Sodexo Frameworks

In circa 2014 Sodexo entered into framework agreements with various regional companies to carry out the refurbishment of their premises across England.

Sheens were delighted to be awarded the contracts for the supply only of doorsets and ironmongery from all Principle Contractors involved. As such, Sheens have been supplying doors for the schemes across England for the previous 12 months, supplying the same product to 3 different companies.

Their pro-active and efficient manner have ensured the tight lead times demanded by such a project, have not impacted on delivery dates, or quality alike.

Kensington

Sheens was contracted by Curtis Furniture to manufacture high gloss doors and casings for a block of 15 luxury apartments in Kensington. The bespoke specification of these doors required a high quality finish to reflect the prestigious nature of the build.

The high gloss black finish on these doors was truly astounding when they were fitted into their surroundings.

Levenshulme

For this project we supplied laminate and encapsulated doors as well as suppling and fixing of ironmongery in our work shop, and the fitting of encapsulated doors. It was brilliant to receive congratulations from the main contractor. Having established and maintained an incontestable relationship with Laing-O Rourke, we are both excited and humbled to be negotiating further contracts in the North West and Yorkshire.

Cambridge

Following the successful completion of student accommodation in Leeds, Sheens was appointed by George Downing Construction to provide a full first and second fix joinery package, including the manufacture of 2000 door sets, bespoke manufactured reception counters and fixed furniture items.

The project included a mixture of fire rated oak veneered, and paint grade door sets, furnished with satin stainless steel ironmongery supplied by RB Architectural, based in Liverpool.

Leeds Central Village

Leeds Central Village was the first project completed by Sheens Projects for George Downing Construction. The contract for supply and installation of all 1st and 2nd fix joinery items, the manufacture of circa 1600 door sets, fixed furniture and the manufacture and installation of the reception counter was awarded in 2013.

The project included a mixture of fire rated oak veneered, and paint grade door sets, furnished with satin stainless steel ironmongery supplied by Em-B, of Leeds, West Yorkshire.

This 21 storey, 404 bedroom block, commenced in January 2014 was completed in September of the same year, with a labour strength of 2 – 4 men throughout.

The Art House

The Art House in Wakefield was renovated thanks to a £1.3m Arts Council England ‘Large Capital’ grant, £1.2m from the European Regional Development Fund, as well as support from Wakefield Council, which gave a 25-year lease for the building.

Sheens won the contract to supply internal door sets, external matching doorsets and ironmongery in addition to internal timber wall construction and internal cladding.

 

Bond Court, Leeds

Bond Court is centrally located in the prime business district of Leeds. Sheens Projects was contracted to undertake bespoke manufactured door sets, second fix joinery and bathroom fit out when this key building was refurbished in 2011.
